Keep your moral compass away from magnets...
I'm finally back. I had an issue with my wireless connection and it's finally been fixed. I can get online at home again. I'm sure you're all relieved...
Now that I'm back I really don't know what to write about of course. It's been so long, but nothing of note has taken place. So rather than try to recap everything that's happened I'll probably just start fresh as if I was on a break. I don't feel like writing a 20-page papaer right now. I hope that you're all well.
I have seen some very good films through Netflix recently...
Volver is stellar!
Nobody Knows is very touching, beautiful, depressing, and wonderful.
Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai was quite good.
Marie Antoinette was good but the soundtrack is phenomonal.
Fast Food Nation is very good and scary as heck.
Thank You for Smoking is great!
The Ballad of Jack and Rose is wonderful. Daniel Day Lewis always delivers an amazing performance!
I don't think I've seen a movie in the theater since Reno 911!: Miami. It's been a while...
There's a new Nick Cave project called Grinderman and their new album is FANTASTIC! Grinderman are Nick Cave, Warren Ellis, Martyn Casey, and Jim Sclavunos. This is some of the hardest, edgiest stuff since the Birthday Party. I LOVE this album! I'm so glad I pre-ordered it from Mute. I ended up getting it on CD and vinyl as well as a 7-inch and a CD EP. The first two tracks, "Get It On" and "No Pussy Blues" are incendiary! Grinderman is a MUST for any Nick Cave fan! I dare you not to blast it in your car. Run, don't walk to your nearest record store and buy this insanely good album!
I sold some wine to Colonel Galaxy the other day. That was cool. I didn't tell him that I recognized him or anything. He was very nice. Of course no one in the store knew who he was. That's the bonus of being an alterna-geek I guess. It's been a while but Niagara has been in the store too. She's very sweet. They're a nice couple...and they hang with the Stooges!
I really haven't done much other than work lately. Work is still a steaming pile. My co-worker/friend who mentored me in wine quit over a month ago. It's just not the same without him...and more work. He's doing well and enjoying the retired life. Good for him!
I hope there's an isolated hurricane in Ft. Lauderdale this weekend...
I threw a dinner party for friends a few weeks ago. That was fun!
I won't touch on politics or the local economy this time around as that could get pretty lengthy. Captain Douchenozzle (Dubya) and his cronies have ruined this country and have made an irreparable dent in its future. The US auto industry is fucked! Global warming is roasting our nuts. Factory farming and big business have ruined everything. There's a lot of shitty stuff going on...please keep your moral compasses away from magnets.
You Are a Peanut Butter Sundae |
Sticky, rich, and totally decadent. You know that life is all about the good stuff. |
You Are a Chocolate Cheesecake |
Rich and greedy, you're attracted to the dark side of life. Nothing ever quite satisfies your inner beast. And somehow, people find that sexy. |
You Are the Ego |
You take a balanced approach to your life. You definitely aren't afraid to act out on your desires - even crazy ones. But you usually think first. Morals drive you as much as hedonism does. You've been able to live a life of pleasure... without living a life of excess. |
Your Life is 44% Green |
You're life is pretty green - and you know a lot about how to live an eco friendly life. So congratulate yourself for being good to the earth. And maybe think about implementing some of the ideas from this quiz! |
That's all for now...
ITMFA!
Cheers,
Jason

Welcome back!
I'm sorry to hear that the Zinman's gone, and I know you're swamped in over your head now because of that. Have you taken to drinking mini's from the end of the register yet?
How about those RADIO DEPT. tracks from the Marie Antoinette soundtrack, eh?? Defintely a new favorite band for me. Sophia strikes again with a stellar soundtrack!
Nice to have you back.
Just what I need. More movies to add to my Netflix queue. I'm about three shy of 300.
